The nifty Science Fiction blog, i09 published a link to an article by Cinema Blend, in which Alex Kurtzman, co-writer for J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek 2, commented on working alongside Benedict Cumberbatch, who will play the villain in the Star Trek sequel.
If for some crazy reason you don’t know who Benedict Cumberbatch is, then you most either hate good acting or simply not bother to look up who plays who in the big screen. Benedict Cumberbatch is currently a lead actor, playing Sherlock Holmes, in BBC’s Sherlock and well-known for other recent roles in Steven Spielbergs’ War Horse, the historical film Amazing Grace (in which he plays William Pitt) and for playing Peter Guillam in the spy thriller Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.
Alex Kurtzman seems to be very excited about working with Cumberbatch and how he is bringing Captain Kirk and the Enterprise’s new enemy to life in Star Trek 2. Since I already love J.J. Abrams’ take on Star Trek and Benedict Cumberbatch’s acting, it seems like there are only good things ahead for this project. Can’t wait!
