So I will start by confessing that I am not a die-hard NBA fan. I like watching NBA basketball. Heck, I love watching NBA basketball. Living in North Carolina, however, its really hard to get attached to a pro team in all the college madness that we live in down here. If you don’t have a favorite among Duke, North Carolina, and NC State, then you aren’t from the Research Triangle, NC.
But, when I get chance, I love tuning into some NBA action. I woke up this morning to a Houston Rockets win over the Detroit Pistons. Yes, it is the Detroit Pistons, but what happened last night was something pretty special. James Harden has always been a good player. We knew that. What we also had seen was Harden playing as part of a unit along with Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and company. Last night we saw something crazy, and it was extraordinary.
37 points. 12 assists. 6 rebounds. 4 steals. 1 block. Who is this guy? Could this movie to Houston be the best thing that could have happened to Harden? Maybe. The season is still young, but if this is the kind of playing we are going to be seeing all season long, I may just become a Rockets fan.
